Hello...I'm New to the forum....and I have a question about prophets of today....are they real and should they request money to prophesy to you.
by maryitsmyseasoncole on 24 Nov, 2014 23:59
Knowledge comes without money, be mindful of who you allow to lead you! That's all I can say bc I can't put my tongue on the chosen!

Prophets are real. But beware of false prophets. Asking money in exchange of a prophecy is abnormal. Every deed or gift from God is not for sale. Healing, deliverance, breakthroughs, etc..... God's gift does not have a price. Who can pay God just for the air we breed? If God has to do anything for anybody,He just does it because He owns everything. "Even you and i". But you must know that some Godly ministries need your support. The bible says if you can't go,you can send someone by contributing. Financially,or materially.IF offerings are not given, how can God's work go on? You don't have to be asked to give bcos it's your responsibility. Or better still,it's not an obligation.
But beware of false prophets. Stay glued to your bible instead of waiting for someone to explain to you all the time. They take advantage of you when they realise you don't know the Word, and are willing to learn. Pray and ask the Father to help you know them by their fruits.I pray His grace be with you. Amen.

Thank you for the responses.....because I have a prophet who emails me great things that GOD SAID are supposed to take place in my life...and I really be looking forward to it.....I just don't have the money to pay...and then when I do have it....I don't give because I start doubting...and money has been hard to come by these days cause I wasn't working for a while...but thank God he blessed me with a seasonal job....because it's been ruff..i do want to support the prophets ministry cause he don't say anything wrong....I just feel that if God wants these things for me...why doesn't it just happen... Then again I think the reason why it doesn't happen is due to my lack of faith in the prophet....that's why I was asking if they are real today...Thank you..

A child of God must ask questions so as not to be led astray. Even if it's someone you know. The devil is always around, and can hide behind some deeds. When Jesus appeared to His deciples after His death, they had to be sure if He was the one. And He showed them the holes in His hands. So pls,try to be faithful and upright with God. God bless you.

Hello, Im a Christian. I just joined this app like yesterday so sorry im late to help answer your question. I will love to answer your question to the best of my bible knowledge.
The definition of a prophet is - Someone who speaks by divine inspiration. 2nd Someone who predicts the future; a soothsayer.
You want to know if the prophets of today are real.
God reveals things to us now days by Hebrews 1:1-2 In the past, God spoke to our people through prophets. He spoke at many times. He spoke in different ways. But in these last days, he has spoken to us through his Son...
And Christ has spoken to us through his disciples and there writings..
.Matthew 28:20 Jesus said, Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.
John 15:20 If they obey my (christ) teaching, they will obey yours (apostles) also.
2 Timothy 4:17 By using Scripture, a man of God can be completely prepared to do every good thing...
So you dont need a prophet for salvation or new revelations cause God gave us christ and christ gave us apostles. We have there writings and revelations to live by. And we have other Christians to help us understand scripture so we can know christ better.
1 Thessalonians 5:21 Put everything to the test.
1 John 4:1 Put the spirits to the test to see if they belong to God.
2 Corinthians 13:5 Take a good look at yourselves to see if you really are believers.
Galatians 6:4 Each one of you should but your actions to the test.
Job 13:9 Would it turn out well If he (God) looked you over carefully?
Isaiah 55:8 “My thoughts are not like your thoughts. And your ways are not like my ways,” announces the LORD
Jeremiah 12:3 Lord, you know me and see me. You test my thoughts about you.
Psalm 26:3 Your love is always with me. I have always lived by your truth.
I hope this helped. May God bless u

Yes, prophets ar d instruments in d hands of God,
If u lack a prophet in this wicked generation u ar missing a lot,
Yet, their ministration must base on d word

Hello, just wanted to share some info
((((If u lack a prophet in this wicked generation u ar missing a lot)))
Job 5:17 Blessed is the person God corrects...You will check out your property. You will see that nothing is missing.
Need Christ not a prophet
1 John 2:6 Those who claim to belong to him (The Lord) must live just as jesus did.
Matthew 16:24 he must say no to himself.
Philippians 2:5 You should think in the same way Christ Jesus does...v2 Be one in spirit and purpose.
1 Corinthians 2:15 Everyone who as the Spirit can judge all things...v16 we have the mind of Christ.
We have everything we need to know to live a godly life and need nothing new. Prophets can't reveal anything that we already should know. Just like we should know everything our preaches know.
2 Timothy 4:17 By using Scripture, a man of God can be completely prepared to do every good thing...
John 5:20 the Father loves the Son. He shows him everything he does.
Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways remember him (God).
John 10:10 I have come so they can have life. I want them to have it in the fullest possible way.
Philippians 1:21 For me (apostle paul), life finds all of its meaning in Christ. Death also has it benefits.
Prophet - Someone who speaks by divine inspiration.
Prophets aren't needed. Christians wasn't told to obey Prophets nor give money to them for their ministries. We was told to obey Christ and his apostles. Prophets aren't needed for salvation and so prophets aren't needed in the Church of Christ but dont believe me test my words. Use the Holy Spirit to test them. 1 Corinthians 2:15 Everyone who as the Spirit can judge all things.
John 7:16 Jesus answered, What I teach is not my own. It comes from the One who sent me.
Hebrews 1:1-2 In the past, God spoke to our people through prophets. He spoke at many times. He spoke in different ways. But in these last days, he has spoken to us through his Son...
Matthew 28:20 Teach them to obey everything I (Christ) have commanded you (11apostles).
John 15:20 If they obeyed my (Christ) teaching, they will obey yours (apostles) also.
2 Timothy 1:13 Follow what you heard from me (apostle Paul) as the pattern of true teaching.
2 Thessalonians 2:15 We passed our teachings on to you by what we preached and wrote.
1 Thessalonians 1:6 We and the Lord were your examples. You followed us.
2 Thessalonians 3:14 Keep an eye on anyone who doesn't obey the directions in our letter.
1 Timothy 1:11 True teaching agrees with the glorious good news of the blessed God.
If I'm wrong please correct me.
Psalm 141:5 If that person (who does right) were to correct me, it would be like pouring olive oil on my head. I wouldn't say no to it.
If im wrong ill be happy to check scriptures as many times as it take to gain understanding. Cause I enjoy spending time in Christ thoughts his Words.
Psalm 43:4 I will go to God. Proverbs 8:30 I was always happy to be with him.

There are no profits of today. Somebody tells you that got some proficiency for you, run fast and far. Much less giving them any money!
by toya on 15 Feb, 2015 21:47

Prophets are real...but prophets that come to u nd ask for money are not to b trusted...some of them are real even though they ask for money...we should not encourage them by giving them money bcos Gods gift are free and are not to b purchased with money. Also when we are close to God, He speaks to us...we shud try to b close to God so that He can tell us directly what He wants us to know and in cases when a prophet comes to us, the spirit of God within us will help us discern and know if what that prophet is saying is from God or not.
by ricky on 21 Mar, 2015 08:06
I believe there are still prophets in these last days ,remember the verse I will pour out my spirit on young men......and they shall prophesy, i have seen it myself. On the money issue, the Gospel is free but how are those called to serve fulltime supposed to survive? it should be voluntary giving but not forceful asking for money.
by prayerwarrior on 21 Mar, 2015 11:05
Please read Ephesians 4 especially verses 7-16 this explains that Jesus Christ , Himself gave the five ministry offices to the church which includes prophets. Also in 1 Corinthians 12:8-11 the gifts of the Holy Spirit are listed. Joel 2:28 was quoted on the day of Pentecost by the Apostle Peter .
Just because there are the false apostles, prophets etc that does not rule out the truth of God's Word about true Prophets etc in the New Testament Church of Jesus Christ
We are instructed to test the spirit and need to discern correctly by the Holy Spirit using the Word of God.We always need to pray for wisdom and study the Bible. Also being filled with the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of Truth. Hope this helps .God bless you all in your quest for Biblical truths.

Its only that the conmen have realised that people are desperate n hence need signs n wonders and that's what we falling to. Jesus did wonders the prophets like Elijah the same but there was no money in exchange
