TEST 1 Thessalonians 3:3-5 We sent him (Timothy, to give you strength and hope in your faith) so that no one would be upset by times of testing. You know very well that we have to go through them. In fact, when we were with you, we kept telling you that our enemies would make us suffer. As you know very well, it has turned out that way. That's the reason I sent someone to find out about your faith. I couldn't wait any longer. I was afraid that Satan might have tempted you in some way. Then our efforts would have been useless.
GOD TESTS Jeremiah 9:7 the LORD who rules over all says, "I will put them through the fire to test them. Proverbs 17:3 Fire tests silver. Heat tests gold. But the LORD tests our hearts. Zechariah 13:9 I will test them like gold. Ecclesiastes 3:18 God puts human beings to the test. James 1:3 Your faith will be put to the test. Ezekiel 21:13 You can be sure that testing will come. Job 7:17-18 You (GOD) check up on them (HUMANS) every morning. You put them to the test every moment. 1 Thessalonians 2:4 We want to please God. He puts our hearts to the test.
TEST Exodus 16:4 Here is how I (The LORD) will put them to the test. I will see if they will follow my directions. Deuteronomy 13:3-4 The LORD your God is putting you to the test. He wants to know whether you love him with all your heart and with all your soul. You must follow him. You must have respect for him. Keep his commands. Obey him. Serve him. Remain true to him. Deuteronomy 8::3 He tested you to teach you that man doesn't live only on bread. He also lives on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD. Deuteronomy 2:8 He wanted to take your pride away. He wanted to put you to the test and know whats was in your hearts (thoughts, feelings, ideas, observations, motives, memories, and desires). He wanted to see whether you would obey his commands. Exodus 20:20 God has come to put you to the test. He wants you to have respect for him. That will keep you from sinning.
TEST PART 2 GOD ALREADY KNOWS BUT DO YOU KNOW EVERYTHING IN YOUR HEART? IT WILL SHOW THROUGH YOUR ACTIONS: YOUR HEART IS YOUR MIND: THOUGHTS, FEELINGS, IDEAS, DESIRES, MOTIVES, PERCEPTIONS AND MEMORIES John 6:6 He (JESUS) asked this only to put Philip to the test. He already knew what he was going to.... TEST 2 Chronicles 32:31 Then God left him to put him to the test. He wanted to know everything that was in his heart (thoughts, memories, motives, ideas, perceptions, feelings, desires). Proverbs 27:19 When you look into the water, you see a likeness of your face. When you look into your heart, you see what you are really like. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Matthew 12:34-35 Your mouths say everything that is in your hearts. A good man says good things. These come from the good that is put away inside him. An evil man says evil things. These come from the evil that is put away inside him. Proverbs 18:4 The words of a person's mouth are like deep water. Proverbs 20:5 The purposes of a man's heart are like deep water. But a man who has understanding brings them out. Psalm 18:16 He (GOD) reached down from heaven. He took hold of me. He lifted me out of the deep waters.
Character is developed and revealed by tests, and all of life is a test. You are always being tested. God constantly watches your response to people, problems, success, conflict, illness, disappointment, and even watch the weather! He even watches the simplest actions such as when you open a door for others, when you pick up a piece of trash, or when you're polite toward a clerk or waitress. Pg 47 The Purpose Driven Life
Hezekiah had enjoyed a close fellowship with God, but at a critical point in his life God left him alone to test his character, to reveal a weakness, and to prepare him for more responsibility. When you understand that life is a test, you realize that nothing is insignificant in your life. Even the smallest incident has significance for your character development. Every day is an important day, and every second is a growth opportunity to deepen your character, to demonstrate love, or to depend on God. Some tests seem overwhelming, while others you don't even notice. But all of them have eternal implications. Pg 48 The Purpose Driven Life
The Bible offers three metaphors that teach us God's view of life: Life is a test, life is a trust, and life is a temporary assignment. Pg 46 The Purpose Driven Life
God continually tests people's character, faith, obedience, love, integrity, and loyalty. Words like trials, temptations, refining, and testing occur more than 200 times in the Bible. Pg 46-47 The Purpose Driven Life
Every time you pass a test, God notices and makes plans to reward you in eternity. (James) Pg 48 The Purpose Driven Life
