Tithing is crucial to obedience, not just in a monetary sense. Also 10percent of your time if your truly sold out, and this is simply acknowleging that everything we've been given is God's in the first place and fulfilling what is required of God in that. God's economy is not lacking nor will his work cease if you do not tithe, thinking of and prayerfully considering your Pastor's needs. Sure God will provide for his needs and wouldnt it be that much more of a blessing to be the instrument or vessel that the Holy Ghost in you is meeting the needs of a church and lovingly providing for the beloved Man of God whom has fed you spiritually. Perhaps I missed something I should have mentioned before, Finding A Home Bible teaching church to fellowship at is not only crucial in your receiving sound doctrine but that your tithe may be sewn in that which is spreading that sound doctrine, winning souls for Christ. After obediently tithing give whatever is on your heart as offering. It began as far back as Abraham giving a tenth of what God had given him stewardship over and will continue to that glorious day King Jesus cracks the sky with his saints behind him. - I may be typing this on a forum saying "you" however I am receiving it first, this was for me even moreso, Im 29 saved sealed and delivered and several poor choices on my part had increased my flesh and drowned my saviors voice and a profound experience lastnight in which Men circled and prayed over me, and afterward an overwhelming peace had overcome and on the ride back with my father inlaw I was transparent over mistreating my wife dabbling in drugs and just becoming a fleshly monster that selfishly gorged himself on everything that was worldly. When I returned home under unction of the Holy Ghost, trashed everything I had drug related including a few prescriptions that were "crutches" aswell, Sharing this for prayer and to open another controversial topic. -How can a Man (me) that approx 5yrs ago was delivered from everything and was used of God had ever returned to his own vomit.

tithes are important yes but I don't think tithes are to go to pastors’ salary. tithes should go to the people who are in need. Has anyone notice how these nowadays pastors are living wealthy, having numerous cars, jets and mansions while most people are suffering ?

I have always attended fairly small churches. I was raised in one. Nothing fancy anywhere. Its very obvious where the money is going and that's to repairs and bills. Also, when I started being adamant about my tithes a was told by a deacon always use and sign the envelopes. To my surprise at the end of the year I received a tax write off for everything I gave. Never knew. Didn't care about the money I gave ...I felt like I was doing what I was supposed to do. But God. If God gives to you, give back. But if you're questioning it...if it even crosses your mind afterwards... Don't bother. Wait until you want to, without provocation. But I promise it all comes back ten fold don't concern yourself with others pockets, blessings, or demons. God is always watching and rewarding. The devil is also very busy. I pray what I said helps and that God whispers in your ear.

Tithing, like the sabbath is an old testament law, part of the old covenant. It was a Jewish law and practice meant only for the jews. It is not meant for Christians today. The standard of giving for today's church is found in Corinthians - give from the heart according to ones ability.
