Matthew 16:18, Christ said He would build His Church- one church- and the gates of hell (meaning the grave) shall not prevail against it. Christ said He would build a single church that could never be destroyed.
That Church is still on earth today.
If anyone is truly interested, there is a book that traces this church through history to today. http://rcg.org/books/thogtc.html
Disclaimer: It does not pull any punches or sugarcoat the truth about commonly believed lies that have been around for millennia. Some people depending on current beliefs may be angered at what this book says about certain things they may believe to be true. This is unavoidable.

I use to attend a cell group of a particular church in swaziland and i heard one of the pastors say "we are LOSING people to the OTHER churches" so much for our great unity! In John 17 Jesus says our unity will be a sign for the world that He lives!
